The festival is contributing a big part towards the different communities of the state. They have reserved some days for this purpose. One of those days is “Heroes ‘day.”
On this day, people who are 55 or above can enter the fair for free. It doesn’t matter which category they belong to, whether they are military servants, business men, firefighters or any other professional, if they fill the criteria, they will enter the festival for free.
Apart from heroes’ day, the festival is playing a big part in providing food to homeless and needy. According to Tod Miller – chief organizer of the North Georgia state fair, “last year they provided 40,000 canned goods to the needy.”
Considering the popularity of the fair, it has attracted many sponsors in order to spread their efforts on a larger scale. The increased sponsorship has made it easier for the organizers to keep the ticket prices in control. It has helped the people belonging to different classes gather on a single platform to have fun and contribute towards the community.
The money gained from sponsors is also used to improve the less privileged areas of the state. The festival has helped restore a smaller park that was built in 1969 into its original condition.
The tradition of contributing towards the society has increased the number of visitors in the recent years. The previous festivals have had a few bad weather conditions but that has not stopped the people from visiting the North Georgia state fair.
